Each notebook or desktop or server is run by an Operating System - the low-level software which interacts with the computer hardware, including peripherals such as a mouse and a printer, as well as any applications that are installed on the system. Any program input through a command line or a Graphical User Interface (GUI) is processed by sending an Application Program Interface (API) request to the Operating System. On a server, each app runs within the parameters defined by the OS as well - priority, physical memory, processing time, etc. This is valid for both standard Internet site scripts and server-side software like a media server. In case a virtual server is generated on a physical one, there can be two different Operating Systems, named guest OS and host OS, so you can set up a different software environment on a single machine.

Multiple OS in VPS Servers

Our VPS server plans come with three Linux releases which you may pick from for the Operating System of your new web server - Debian, Ubuntu and CentOS. In addition to being absolutely free, the OSs are extremely stable and secure and the main reason to offer all 3 of them is to ensure that you will be able to run any app that you'd like, because different pieces of software could have different requirements when it comes to the environment they can be used on. Each one of the three OSs is backed by a vast community of developers who have created thousands of software packages that you can install and use on your VPS. In accordance with the Operating System that you select, you will also be able to choose between three different Control Panels to manage your hosting content. Also, should you decide that you need a different OS, we could always re-install the server with it. As an additional upgrade, we also offer weekly updates of the OS for optimum stability and security.

Multiple OS in Dedicated Servers

The dedicated servers that we offer come with three different Operating Systems as we want to offer you more versatile packages that will enable you to install and run any web software irrespective of its system requirements. Your options are CentOS, Debian and Ubuntu and these three OSs are some of the most reliable and risk-free ones, not mentioning that they do not have any license charges. All three have numerous developers that have created numerous software packages that you may install and use on your web server. We also offer three hosting Control Panels and which one you can use depends on the Operating System that you select when you register. If you need a new OS later on, it won't be a problem since we can always reinstall your machine. With our Managed Services package we could also keep your OS secure by updating it every week with any patches that are available for it.
